Your experience, struggle, and criticism is completely valid. And I noted in my piece that the original author’s pharmaphobia is a legitimate concern with regards to her potential transition.

It wasn’t my intent to call someone out for “doing trans wrong” only to point out that her decision not to transition isn’t noble, and that implying that it is will definitely harm other trans people.

Indeed, her article has already been used against me in arguments over the necessity of medical transitions as a treatment of gender dysphoria, and it’s only been a week. Additionally, more than one closeted trans woman have reached out to me to tell me how the article made them reconsider a medical transition.

As noted in my response, I wasn’t writing for jencoates, I was writing for the other closeted trans people who are struggling with what to do about their crushing dysphoria.
